Neue Sachlich Kiet (New Objectivity)
Neue Sachlich Keit (new objectivity) became prominent as a trend in German art, architecture and literature in the 1920s. Renger-Patzsch applied this to photography and adopted the cameras ability to produce faithful recording of the world. It was a protest against their experience in war. The art pieces after the war showed their new found hatred and anger the war had brought to them. The first soldiers sent out were the ones who experienced the most brutal parts of the war.
Otto Dix was one of the first artists to make art 'inspired' by what he had seen during and after the war. He made a piece showing people who had been disfigured walking around Germany for the first time after the war.

While the majority of Renger-Patzch's images are shot without being close or using zoom, mine are mostly close-ups of things I thought were interesting. I mainly took images of what I see everyday as I have made things that can be seen as basic and bring look beautiful and interesting to me. This is because i've seen the same things in many different ways. I am personally drawn to taking images of interesting architectural structures both modern and old, however as I don't really live by any, I decided to mainly focus on what was around me and showing what I see is beautiful. However, I was inspired by the rows of the same things while taking these images and that is what had inspired me to take images of the trolleys and the plants.
I think that as a set of 100 images, these don't really work because some are of similar things but there are some things that are completely unrelated to other images. I think that if I split them up into smaller sets and had them presented together it would work because links could be drawn easier than when they're one big set.

Here I have made three different sets out of the hundred images I had previously taken. I think that when the images are broken down into smaller sets they are easier to understand and draw links as they are with images that include the same or similar subjects.
